A Seattle native, Tom entered
public accounting with a National CPA firm in 1963 and
founded Melang, Hopps & Company P.C in 1969. He graduated
from Roosevelt High School and the University of Washington,
receiving a B.A. in accounting in 1961 and a M.B.A. in
1970. In 1964 he was certified. Thomas is a past president
of the Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants
(WSCPA) and a member of the American Institute of Certified
Public Accountants (AICPA) and a past member of its council.
He has served the University of Washington Department
of Accounting as "Partner in Residence" and chairman of
the Accounting development fund.
Tom is active in the community, a past president of the
Bellevue Boys and Girls Club,and of the Northwest Kidney
Foundation Board of Trustees. He also serves on the Northwest
Kidney Center Board and is a longtime member and past
chairman of Roundtable.

Steve has practiced public
accounting for over 20 years, in addition to working in
private industry as a controller. He graduated from Seattle
Prep High School and Seattle University, graduating cum
laude in 1967 with a B.A.in economics. He joined the frim
in 1972 after serving as a U.S Navy Supply Corps Officer
and was certified in 1975. He is a member of both the
AICPA and WSCPA. He has served on the Board of Trustees
as the treasurer for the Mercer Island Country Club, where
he was once head tennis pro.

Meri joined the firm in January 1985. She graduated from
the University of Washington in 1985, with a B.A. in Accounting
and Finance. She was certified in 1988 and is a member
of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants
and the Washington Society of CPAs. Meri manages small
business and individual client engagements in the areas
of audit, tax preparation, accounting, business consulting
and computerized accounting systems.

Jim joined the firm in 1986 and was certified in 1986.
He received his Masters in Taxation from Golden Gate University
in 1990. He worked in both private and public accounting
and is a member of the American Institute of Certified
Public Accountants, Tax Division and the Washington Society
of CPA's. |
